Br. Robert Livernois, CSC, M.Ed

Brother Robert Livernois, C.S.C. grew up on a dairy farm in Anchorville, Michigan. After graduating from high school, Bob attended Holy Cross College for two years before entering the Congregation of Holy Cross Novitiate in Bennington, Vermont. He then continued his education earning a degree in social studies at Indiana University at South Bend. Brother Bob began his teaching ministry working with middle school students at LeMans Academy, Rolling Prairie, Indiana. After earning a master’s degree in guidance and counseling Brother Bob went on to work at Gabriel Richard High School in Riverview, Michigan, and then St. Joseph’s High School in South Bend, Indiana. After earning another master’s degree in school administration, Brother Bob served as principal of St. Mary Catholic Central High School in Monroe, Michigan. Brother Bob then accepted a position at Holy Cross College as Dean of Student Life and later Director of the Conditional Acceptance Program. Moving to Ohio, Brother Bob served as Social Studies Chair at St. Edward High School in Lakewood, Ohio, for six year before moving to Akron where he presently serves as an Associate Principal at Archbishop Hoban High School, Akron, Ohio. When asked about his life as a Brother of Holy Cross, Brother Bob responded that being a Holy Cross Brother has allowed him to minister in a number of places and to work with students from grades 5 through college. Teaching and working to promote student leadership has been Brother Bob’s passion for 40 years.
